Honda Celebrates the 20 Millionth Vehicle Produced in the U.S.

March 20th, 2014

Honda Motor Company announced today that they have produced their 20 millionth vehicle since they began producing them in Ohio over 31 years ago. Honda’s Marysville, Ohio plant sent out its 10 millionth vehicle, another milestone in itself, adding to Honda’s three other production plants in the U.S. to reach the 20 million milestone. Honda was also the first Japanese automaker to build a U.S. assembly plant, the Marysville plant, back in 1982. Honda’s other three plants are located in East Liberty, Ohio, Lincoln, Alabama, and Greensburg, Indiana.

Hidenobu Iwata, CEO of Honda of America Manufacturing, said “We are deeply aware that our ability to reach this milestone results from the trust that 20 million customers have placed in our products, and we appreciate their support over the past three decades,” “We also value the commitment made by tens of thousands of associates at Honda and our hundreds of suppliers in the U.S. who build products of the highest quality for our customers.”

March Car Specials On New Vehicles

March 13th, 2014

Spring is almost here. The snow is finally melting in the northern part of the country with 40 and 50 degree temperature around the corner. With spring, comes the beginning of the car buying season, so dealers are ready to put their best specials forward to get you in their doors. We have compiled a list of the Top 5 Car Specials in March 2014.

#5 BMW X3 – The sticker price on the BMW X3 is attractive, and can be found starting at just under 40,000. With an estimated 21 MPG in the city and 28 on the highway, the 2014 BMW X3 will get you there without average SUV fuel costs.

#4 Hyundai Sonata – Hyundai’s flagship sedan is said to be undergoing a redesign in 2015, leaving the 2014 models a little stagnant at the dealerships. Good news for you, because the new 2014 Sonata can be found selling for around 10% off its MSRP.

#3 Jeep Compass – The Jeep line has reported better than expected sales in 2013. That is, except for the Compass. It’s lagging sales and less than stellar consumer reviews have damaged its reputation and drove down the price.

#2 Toyota Camry – One of the surprises on the list, based on its supreme popularity, are the deals we found on 2014 Camrys. The best-selling sedan in the United States boasts 25 MPG in the city and 35 on the highway, making it a smart and economical choice. You may be able to find this gem selling at 10% below invoice price.

#1 Ram 1500 – The Ram 1500 truck is another shocker because it has been on a hot streak the last few months. Winter months normally bring higher truck sales, and this winter has not deviated for the Ram. Ford and Chevy are selling more, but the discounts of over 12% off MSRP can be found only on the 2014 Ram.

Slumping Winter Auto Sales Ignites U.S. Price War

March 6th, 2014

Winter weather has hurt some U.S. automakers vehicle sales in January and February. Many of the northern, cold weather states have actually had to close their doors due to hazardous temperatures and weather conditions. Total vehicle sales numbers for February are in and two U.S. automakers, Ford and General Motors, posted sales declines. GM posted a 1% decline in sales and Ford posted a 6% drop in sales compared to February 2013. Nissan and Chrysler were the only two automakers who posted astonishing double digit sales gains here in the U.S. in February on the backs of deep discounts and Presidents’ Day Sales.

Dealer inventory is climbing as the number of cars sold has steadily declined in the last two months. Dealer inventory is normally based on the number of days of inventory their average dealership has on their lots. 60 days is the industry standard for inventory level, and most of the U.S. automakers are at 80 days or more, which is troublesome for automakers and dealerships. This normally leads to price cuts and price wars among automakers, fighting for every sale, making it the perfect time to purchase a new vehicle.
